Pollak Twins

The identical, German-born Pollak Twins are visionary filmmakers, writers, and directors whose work explores the fragile terrain of intimacy, identity, and the human condition. Rooted in a lineage of theater and representation, with a grandmother and mother who were both prominent literary and talent agents, Antonia and Francesca grew up shaped by language, performance, and the quiet force of women who made space for others to be seen.

Their dual gaze offers a singular cinematic perspective, deeply personal, emotionally precise, and universally resonant. Having lived and worked across London, Berlin, and Milan, the Pollak Twins found their true home in Los Angeles, where they have lived since 2021.

Together, they co-wrote and directed the short films Die Agentin, Lily, Lola, The Icecream People, and I Am Romy. Their work has screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, Berlin Independent Film Festival, and the Indie Short Fest at the Los Angeles International Film Festival, establishing them as bold new voices in independent cinema.

In 2023, Antonia and Francesca collaborated with Gucci and Alessandro Michele on the SS23 Twinsburg fashion show, an homage to duality, identity, and the mirrored complexities of self-perception.

In August 2025, they return to their roots in theater with their stage directorial debut, a new production of The Anarchist by award-winning playwright Karina Wiedman, presented at the LA Dance Project in Downtown Los Angeles.

When not writing or directing, they document their world in 35mm. Through Our Lens is their ongoing visual series, a quiet archive of memory, mood, and the beauty of the in-between.
